Yes, I do realize that is an Acura, just wait a minute.... The much anticipated Accord based CUV was shown recently in Las Vegas at the Honda dealers meeting but shhhhhhh! It was just a brief drive by, or thru i guess you could say. Mr. Colliver himself was driven out onto stage in it and it was quickly driven off upon his exit. It bears a strong profile resemblence to the just debuted Acura ZDX however it keep the Honda family lines in a more pronounced way, making it an unmistakable relative to the Accord. The front end is all Accord much like the so called spy-shots of the Accord Touring wagon all over the 'net but the tail is more similar to the picture here with a rear spoiler that splits the window on the hatch some what CR-X 'ish'. Honda has done a wonderful job in keeping images off the web and I do hope that will keep anticipation from weening, it seems the real by product of the information age is a very short attention span these days and most often desire has gone long before the new product is actually released! I for one am very much looking forward to finding out more about and seeing the next in the Honda line up! They didnt allow pictures to be taken or believe me, the Honda Guy would have em! More as I can find friends...

Just a couple of days ago during the New York Auto Show, the Honda FCX was named the 2009 World Green Car. Yes, I know the one on display is red, they dont mean that kind of green!! Things like producing only water and being three times more efficient than a normal gas engine is what they were after and among a field of 22 entries they found the best and greenest in the FCX! More can be found at the Honda media site here.

If some one asked me, no one will but whatev, I would have to say that it looks as if Kia has a car crush on the Civic!! The silver lining to the current economic times seems to be the incredible opportunities available for those that are in the market for a vehicle. Especially here in California a car is not merely a nicety, its a requirement and now is the time to take advantage of the market!
Heres proof:
WASHINGTON, D.C. 4-09-2009— The average interest rate on new-vehicle loans at auto finance companies hit an all-time low of 3.17 percent, according to the Federal Reserve this week.
As a comparison, unless the latest preliminary statistic is a Federal Reserve typo, the closest this figure has ever come to being this low was in the first quarter of 2008 at 4.85 percent, based on available records.
In January, the statistic stood at 8.23 percent, and in December it was 8.42 percent.

Yes, I am aware that Honda is the sole provider for engines in this series! Yes, it would seem less than exciting to follow when we all know it will probably be a Honda powered car that wins...... But, it is actually edge of your seat fun to see which team will emerge victorious. Few forms of racing can really say that the level of skill from the driver and support of your team are the real differences between a win and, well you know what happens when you finish last..... This weekend the series opens its 2009 season in St. Petersburg FL. There are a mess of storylines to follw, should be good viewing!

4/06/09 UPDATE: Ok, spoiler alert, a HONDA powered car WON!!!! See the story of Ryan Briscoe and his victory here!

If you live in So Cal, and where watching the 5:00 news on channel 7 Monday, really closely.... you would have been able to catch the TV debut of the Honda Guy! Yes, I was on TV, if only for a brief moment, still when is the last time YOU were on TV!!??!! Ok, it wasnt a big deal really, jus kinda cool. They asked about the surge in sales as the coming tax increase drove folks out to avoid paying more for big ticket items such as cars. If yoy arent here in ole Cali you may not realize that our state tax went up a whole percent, so know some areas are paying as much as 10.25%!! Because most vehicle are financed the increase in monthly payment is only slight so its more the perception that I am having to overcome now. Heres the link to my TV spot if ya would like to check me out, email me for an autographed color glossy....... the Honda Guy on TV!

Well, sorta. It seems that those freakishly amazing engineers at Honda have developed technology that could, in the future, make you car able to 'read' your thoughts. Things like radio station, volume, turn signals ect could be read from your thoughts..... Now if they could just figure out a way for me to control the guys car NEXT to me on the 210 freeway in the morning!!!!! Read more here.
